Recently I was thinking about all the countries I’ve stamped onto my passport; and I realized that I, while I’ve been to many places, there are so many places in the world that I still want to visit.
This particular visit (to South Africa and Malawi) was a magical trip, in many ways life-changing. The company I worked for at the time – CareerBuilder – partnered with Millennium Promise to sponsor a village for five years, to help them help themselves out of extreme poverty. It was a noble enterprise. I was one of a few selected for that inaugural trip, which changed me in ways that still affect me to this day.

Several mornings ago, as I stood freezing on the platform for the train breathing in the bitter airs of a wintry February morning, my mind wandered back to just a few days prior when everything was different. For the past several days, I have been trying to process all that had happened. What I am left with is a bucketful of experiences, conversations and images – so much so that it has all been a jumbled mess only to lead to writer’s block. I didn’t know where to begin.
