5×7 Oil Painting. Spent hours on this, which is oil painting on gesso panel on a masonite board.
One of my three favourite pieces, this was done over the course of the entire week, spending about an hour at least (and a couple hours on the last day), adding layer upon layer of colour. The picture at the top of this post splits the screen into three, each part a stage of the painting before it was finished. (Not For Sale)

One of the best times I’ve ever had alone with my dog Taylor was spending the day at Point Reyes. Before the sun went down, we spent a few hours sitting off to the side, where Taylor chomped on his bone, and I painted this scene.
I always see mountains and lakes in my head when I close my eyes.

This was inspired by the view outside my balcony, looking out over the bay, just selecting parts of my view that I wanted to include in this oil painting. We haven’t had rains in a long time. And two days of grey really did a lot for our plants; and did a lot to inspire me with different colours – more grey and muted – than I normally do.

My homage to Debussy. I painted most of this with my eyes closed. (oils)
