I had to visit the elephant seals again.
They weren’t nearly as active as the last time I saw them. Only one fight broke out, the rest asleep pounding sand, or sniffing it. They were either unawares or uncaring to the myriad of guests dotting the lookout areas gawking at them, including myself.
Still, they are majestically ugly animals that make ugly noises. Despite that ugliness, they are quite fascinating and quite mesmerizing. All manners of people from all over the world watched them.
I wonder who was watching who.
I’m sure they’d always felt that somebody’s watching them. “Don’t play no tricks on me.”
