We Can Be Heroes (1)

I’m no longer much of a TV watcher, though I have been known to binge-watch on occasion. I am strongly considering canceling my cable package, leaving me alone with Netflix and Amazon Prime. Once I figure out what to do with baseball, college football and the NFL, I’d be set. Over the years, there have been a series of comedies (Seinfeld, the British Office, Cheers, Friends, How I Met Your Mother, Arrested Development), action/crime shows (24, Person of Interest, Alias), and drama (Lost) that I loved, the one show that had the most promise became the biggest disappointment. I loved season one of Heroes.

I loved it for the questions it would ask with each episode with each episode.

“Where does it come from, this quest? This need to solve life’s mysteries, when the simplest of questions can never be answered. Why are we here? What is the soul? Why do we dream? Perhaps we’d be better off not looking at all. Not delving, not yearning. That’s not human nature. Not the human heart. That is not why we are here.”

We all have the capability for good.
We all have the capability for great.
Indeed we can all be heroes.
Just for one day.
Every day.
