“These people. Their future is written on their DNA. Just as the past, it seems, is written in stone. Was the dye cast from the very beginning? Or is it in our own hands to alter the course of destiny? Of all our abilities, it is free will that truly makes us unique. With it, we have a tiny but potent chance to deny fate. And only with it can we find our way back to being human.”
I’m no longer much of a TV watcher, though I have been known to binge-watch on occasion. I am strongly considering canceling my cable package, leaving me alone with Netflix and Amazon Prime. Once I figure out what to do with baseball, college football and the NFL, I’d be set. Over the years, there have been a series of comedies (Seinfeld, the British Office, Cheers, Friends, How I Met Your Mother, Arrested Development), action/crime shows (24, Person of Interest, Alias), and drama (Lost) that I loved, the one show that had the most promise became the biggest disappointment. I loved season one of Heroes.
I loved it for the questions it would ask with each episode.
We all have the capability for good.
We all have the capability for great.
Indeed we can all be heroes.
Just for one day.
