Sausalito’s stunning sunrises have been a long time coming. Today was due for a proper sunrise. For the past thirty minutes since 5:39 AM, I have been sitting on my balcony with the sunrise directly before me. The pinks and purples and yellows and oranges, and every hue of each, set perfectly against the cerulean then powder blue
What’s a bit different about this particular sunrise as opposed to the others from earlier this year are the clouds. In the distance past the horizon built by Belvedere, Tiburon and Angel Island, it gently blankets the Bay Bridge and San Francisco skyline like a collection of ice cream scoops.
“Chocolate chip cookie dough, please.”
“Coming right up!”
I love the sounds of the morning. They have become my favourite and my friends. As of late, the sounds have been left to their lonesome, unaccompanied by the movie of a Sausalito sunrise. I feel special that today is the day they finally decided to unite.
