Camilia

The camilias are in full bloom, and it looks beautiful on my balcony. A year ago at this time, my folks were visiting and staying with me. Among the many wonderful times we had (including my mother cooking some of the most amazing food of all time), we went to Sloat Garden Center in Mill Valley to purchase plants to brighten up my balcony. We bought lilies, lavender, chrysanthemums, rosemary, and many others. My favourite by far was the four foot tall red-flowered camilias. There are already over fifteen flowers blooming with many more buds just waiting to open. Whether I am sitting on my balcony or on my couch in the living room, I have a great view of them.

Seeing them bright and red and beautiful reminds me of my week with my parents in Sausalito and the rest of The Bay Area.
