Get Busy Living Your Life Worth Loving

I’m sure I sound like a broken record, though I’ve found that I take great care not to break records. I find vinyls valuable and I am not athletic enough to even challenge let alone break records. I love my sunrise. It never gets old and each morning I find new ways to enjoy it.

Over the last two mornings, I’ve decided to time-lapse record it. And so, beginning at 6:50 AM yesterday and 6:00 AM today, I set my iPad up on my art easel and for four hours recorded the morning off my balcony. Yesterday it was cloudy, today promises to be a sunny day. The result is quite fantastic actually, as those four hours are compressed into about 30 seconds of God’s beauty.

As beautiful as the recording is, it still cannot capture how truly vibrant the colours are. The oranges, reds, yellows, grays and blues truly pop from beyond the horizon. I sit here with my coffee amongst my plants and literally think of nothing and everything at the exact same time.

And Taylor stares at me all the while.

In a few days, I start my new job. It’s been five months since I resigned from my last one. Five absolutely magical months where I gave myself one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever given anyone: time.

Time to do nothing. Time to do everything. Ever have a list of things you’ve always wanted to do, but couldn’t get to, cos “life” just got in the way? That’s what I did. I crossed so many things off my list cos I gave myself the time to do it. And I got to see so many of my loved ones along the way.

So, I got busy living as I decided life was worth loving. It’s easy to think these thoughts while you’re condensing four hours of the night turning into the morning to thirty seconds.

Go Adventure. Go Travel. Go Live.

    1. I just had a thought this morning as I was sitting on my balcony. I don’t remember which direction your condo faces into Manhattan, but I’ve got to imagine the sunrise or sunset, or perhaps even both, have got to be simply stunning with the Big Apple skyline!

  1. Cecil I truly enjoyed that video. Thanks for not only taking the time (and having the inspiration) to do it, but also to share it. As a sunrise and sunset lover myself, I found it amazing to witness how God transforms the sky every day, often unbeknownst to me. Love you cuz and thanks for inspiring!
