Painting at the Point

What may seem like a repeat of yesterday and the day before never gets old. We find ourselves sitting on South Beach at Point Reyes a few miles south of the famous lighthouse. We both have our paints, our canvas and our brushes. Sitting on the cool sand, the Pacific Ocean is mere yards from us, its waves accompanying the sunset ushering in a brisk evening while our toes find respite in the sand and our fingers deftly waving paint brushes against the blank canvas.

We are the only ones here.

I’ve been here before.
I’ve done this before.
It’s been almost a year.

I’ll be here again.
I’ll do this again.

Why wouldn’t I?

I’m in the middle of paradise doing what I want to do under the blanket of the cool evening sky, sea gulls flying, waves crashing, all giving credence to the wonder of nature, its awesome power, its ability to inspire.

What more could you ask for?
