Before spending my birthday in Darjeeling, my favourite city we’d visited in India clearly was Udaipur. Situated around Lake Pichola, the town made famous by the movie Octopussy was simply beautiful with a charm that would own its moniker as The Venice of the East. After leaving, my thoughts were instead that Venice was The Udaipur of the West.
DaveRisner captured me walking up the steps to one of the small ghats not too far from the Thamla Haveli where we called home for our stay there.
