“The Golden Gate Bridge’s daily strip tease from enveloping stoles of mist to full frontal glory is still the most provocative show in town.”
Mary Moore Mason
I read those words on February 5, 2017 early one morning as I was watching Taylor soundly snoring to the sounds of the storm outside.

I love early mornings. I love them even more than late nights, a far cry from my 20s and 30s. I don’t even need an alarm anymore to wake up. It was 5:26 AM as I my eyes opened to the sounds of pitter patter getting stronger. Before long, it was a full blown storm, romantic in so many ways. I’ve always loved the rain, storms even more. They give me a free pass to stay inside and indulge in my creative side.
After a morning full of rain, writing in my journal, we decided to venture out for a hike and a view of the Golden Gate. Northern California has gotten quite green over the past month plus.
Raging rain started this day
Almost angry, dark and grey
On the couch I decided to stay
Taylor staring in my way
With inspiration, I was mostly writing
The meaning of life, I was reflecting
Its ups and downs, I was wondering
Still Taylor stared at me, intently listening
All the while, blue skies await
Before long, I was off to the Golden Gate
This afternoon for a special date
With Taylor of course, my best mate
