I was driving north on the PCH, the Pacific Ocean obviously to my left, as the sun went down. I had said goodbye earlier in the day to an amazing weekend on the central coast of California.
I stopped to take pictures of the sunset as my car caught a glimpse of my silhouette against the late evening sky. The wind was howling forcing me to be extra careful on the edge of the precipice with the turbulent waters below, balancing myself just so. I stood and I sat and I stood and I sat on a rock thinking how very fortunate I was to be able to witness this magic of the earth turning upon its axis saying goodbye to the sun before me and hello to the moon behind.
I felt so very tall.
I felt like I was on top of the world.
And I smiled the biggest smile I’ve ever smiled before, a singular thought overwhelming all other thoughts.
I thought of love.
I thought of the magic of love.
I’ve seen many sunsets.
I’d never seen one quite like this.
This one accentuated those feelings of love like I had never felt before.
