I am reminded today what it was like to be eight years old again. I am reminded today what it was like to be 108 years old again. I am reminded today of my beloved Cubbies sweeping the NY Mets en route to the World Series only one year ago. 2015 seems like yesterday. I am reminded today of sweeping the LA Dodgers in 2008 en route to the World Series. I am reminded today of Game 7 in 2003 when Kerry Wood hit that home run and I just knew the Cubs would win the NLCS against the FL Marlins to goto the World Series. I am reminded today of Sammy Sosa hitting 66 homers in 1998 to lead the Cubs to the World Series. I am reminded today of Mark Grace single-handedly beating Will Clark and the SF Giants in the 1989 playoffs en route to the World Series. I am reminded today of Leon Bull Durham making a routine play for the ages in 1984 to beat the SD Padres en route to the World Series. I was a year away from being a baby, but remember 1969 like it was yesterday when we held off the NY Mets en route to the World Series to become the Amazin’ Cubs. I remember beating the Detroit Tigers in 1945 to win the World Series. I remember beating the NY Yankees in 1932 World Series despite Babe Ruth calling his shot.
This all seems like a dream.
108 years seem like yesterday.
